Company History -

Engineering Matters Inc. was incorporated in the summer of 1998 by three MIT graduates who initially worked on large-scale linear and rotary motors designed for use on aircraft carriers, Maglev transportation, and Maglifter spacecraft catapults. Since that time we have been recognized for our expertise in electromechanical modeling and simulation, Magnetic Finite Element Analysis, and several specialties within the electromechanical domain, such as, electromagnetics; mechanical engineering; actuators; controls; electromagnetic shielding; robotics; and system engineering and integration.

In 2002 Engineering Matters, Inc. officially became a Woman Owned Small Business and the company is now headed by one of its original founders, David B. Cope, Ph.D., President, and his partner, Lauren Cope, VP of Business Development.
